Our Sustainable Approach

Through the brand, RICCI EVERYDAY aims to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the international community.

We believe that efforts to create a sustainable society will lead to solving not only the issues in Africa and Uganda, where the workshop is located, but also the issues in Japan and around the world, where there are many customers. To that end, we will approach the achievement of various goals, starting from the "realization of gender equality" in Goal 5, among the 17 goals set in the SDGs.

By involving women with various difficulties as important product makers, we strive to create a place where people who are easily marginalized can work lively. But the issue of gender equality is not just a country or region with many challenges like Uganda.

Even in Japan, where women's activities are screaming loudly, there are many women who find it difficult to live because they are unable to demonstrate their abilities as they wish due to environmental and social structures. By using our products, we hope that such women will believe in their sensibilities and provide them with confidence in their choices.

Aiming to be a brand that will make the people and environment involved happy for future generations

The garment industry easily creates employment due to its labor-intensive nature, and while it is an important industry involving women in particular, there are still many people who are forced to work in poor environments such as low wages. It is also the industry with the most serious business and human rights challenges. Unfortunately, a similar situation existed in Uganda.

"Let's properly involve skilled and motivated women in production activities and create a place where they can shine through their work without sacrificing anyone." That was the beginning of everything. Women can now support their families and educate their children by earning a legitimate income through their work, and the products created from their own technology delight Japanese customers far away. This has changed dramatically, such as gaining confidence and pride.

We believe that providing such a "place" will lead to the creation of a more sustainable and prosperous society that releases the abilities that they originally had. And they should be able to support the most important step of "recognizing and affirming themselves" in their own lives.

With such expectations, we are continuing our business.

At RICCI EVERYDAY, we manufacture products while giving maximum consideration to the environmental load in every production process.

While African prints are now mass-produced due to improvements in technology, many are made through a production process that is not environmentally friendly.
We do not use African print fabrics made by such poor production methods, but actively use fabrics produced by processes that are friendly to the natural environment as product materials.

In addition, under the banner of "No More Plastic Please," we are working to create and promote products that do not use plastic materials, which has become a major issue in recent years. Furthermore, based on the spirit of "using everything" learned from Ugandan society, we can reduce waste by reusing the dough that was created during product manufacturing in small items and workshops.
